Plata Quemada (2000)
Sobre o filme
In Argentina in 1965, Nene, Angel, and Cuervo have become famous as bank robbers. Nene and Angel are known as "the twins". They are on intimate terms. They are lovers. They are doing splendidly until the day one of their plans goes awry, and the hold-up ends with a toll of four dead and Angel wounded. Big Boss Fontana, head of the gang, decides they have to go to Uruguay where they must remain in hiding until such a time as false documents can be provided so that they can escape and go free, for good. The days go by, and co-existence is ever more difficult for them. Nene takes umbrage and leaves the apartment. At night, there in Uruguay, he seeks a way out for the inferno his relationship with Angel has become. In one instance, he comes across Giselle, a prostitute that may prove to be an escape valve for his relationship with his bandit lover. The police closes in. Chances of escape are remote. Giselle offers a chance for Nene to save himself; however, he realizes that his fate is bound to that of Angel. One last fling for all will be to spend all of that money. Based on a real episode that occurred in Argentina and in Uruguay at the end of 1965. "This is a story of love twice covert: love between the lawless, and love between homosexuals", says Director Marcelo Piñeyro
