Jean, a court official, carries out his office with professional bearing. He is married to Nicole, a voracious consumer in a state of crisis, for she can not find pleasure in spending. Jean regularly resorts to the services of Georges, a money lender and folk personality, who assists him in committing small offenses. Through him, Nicole re-discovers the joys of shopping. One day, out in the street, Jean comes across Eddy, a young policeman who is following closely on the misdemeanors of both and is suspicious of them. A cold war begins, for the official is ceaseless in his endeavors to prove Jean a thief. Jean has no option but to join forces with Georges and teach the agent a lesson. The plan, however, goes awry: Jean discovers that Nicole is having an affair with Georges. Somewhere, between alliance and treachery, the protagonists will try to survive. However, a small surprise lies in store for them: a certain pink panther is about to descend on the scene...
