Day-to-day life for young musicians in Guantanamo, a town in East Cuba with a United States military base. These are the ‘grandchildren’ of the stars from the Buena Vista Social Club who play in the streets with very little money in their pockets. They make music from pieces of driftwood washed in by the sea and plastic bottles. Yasel González Rivera is the leader of the Madera Limpia band with a vibrant sound, with the influence of rap and hip-hop, played on the wooden instruments. "The priority in life is to live: so long as I live, I can have illusions and dream that I can one day have what I now lack. What I lack is all. While I live, I can have," says the musician.
