A ballot box falls from heaven above attached to a parachute. This surreal event is to transform the life of a soldier on duty on a deserted beach. By the end of the day, he will realize that an election can be more interesting than he might imagine. “Secret Ballot does not pretend to be realistic, but rather a comedy of the absurd describing elections within contemporary reality. I wished to make it clear to the public that this is a surreal, satyrical representation of a socio-political theme”, says director Babak Payami.
