The End of Poverty? (2008)
Sobre o filme
The End of Poverty? asks if the true causes of poverty today stem from a deliberate orchestration since colonial times which has evolved into our modern system whereby wealthy nations exploit the poor: land grab, exploitation of natural resources, debt, free markets, an ever increasing demand for corporate profits and the evolution of an economic system under which 25% of the world’s population consumes 85% of its wealth. From the barrios of Latin America to the slums of Africa, leading economists, politicians and people engaged in social movements warn how the developed nations are plundering the planet at a place that outstrips its capacity to support life with the increasing consequence of greater poverty.
