Olivier teaches youngsters a trade: carpentry. The great trauma in his life was the brutal assassination of his son age 5. Olivier is divorced from his wife Magali, mother of the child who died. When it is suggested that Olivier accept Francis, a boy, in his team, Olivier immediately refuses, for he is face to face with the person who killed his son. The next day, however, he inexplicably changes his mind and takes on Francis in his carpentry shop. Counter to his feelings of resentment, Olivier undertakes to comprehend what has happened. The key issue is: the guilty party is a child. The moral dilemma multiplies the obstacles, the deadlocks, and access to the essential decision: forgiveness or, to the contrary, destruction of the other. At the crossroads, is the question: should the father provide the small assassin with a second chance?
