Sobre o filme

In a sleepy town in former East Germany, life for Jim and Elise has changed very little with the reunification. They are in love, but are bored with life. Jim, a mechanic, who never knew his father, races in his old car on the desert roads in the region and dreams of perfect death: in a frontal collision, passionately kissing Elise. But instead, he runs over and kills a friend who is mentally handicapped. Jim enters into depression, and his relationship with Elise is shaken. He experiences a change in mood when he meets Frank, a newcomer to town writing the script to a film and asks him to help in this assignment. Jim draws closer to the new friend which engenders jealousy from Elise. In an attempt to relieve the tension between the two, Frank invites them both to go down to the coast. There, however, the complex relationship between the three of them takes an unexpected turn.
