In the city of Peshawar, on the borders of Pakistan, two Afghan refugees, cousins Jamal and Enayat, are sent to England to try for a better life. The journey planned by dealers in stolen car parts, opium, and cigarettes is long and hazardous. They enter Iran hidden in trucks and cross the Kurdistan mountains on foot, bound for Turkey. In Istambul, they find a job in a metal factory to pay for the next stage in the odyssey: a forty-hour crossing to Italy where heat and lack of oxygen are the main obstacles. Filmed with a digital camera on original location, the film describes the damages inflicted by the war that swept Afghanistan.
