Sobre o filme
The Bekmouradova family consisting of teenager Mamlakat, age 17. her father Safar, a widower, and Nasreddin, still under the effects, psychologically, of the tragic Afghanistan War, live in a village close to Samarkand. Life in this desolate part of Central Asia is not easy for anyone. Gangsters and petty thieves find that crime is the only means to survival and to attain a degree of respect. Justice and order are nowhere there. Violence is the order of the day, in all instances. The police is inoperative and the law is in the shape of a group of survivors that patrol the streets in a tank. In spite of prospects as unpromising, Mamlakat still nurtures a dream: she wants to be an actress. This, her dream, will lead her to a path of no return. She is seduced by a stranger who says he is an actor, one full moon, and becomes pregnant. The man quickly disappears, but Mamlakat will never resign herself to the circumstances. She tells her relatives of what has happened and, together, they go in search of the stranger, so that the honor of the family is avenged. According to Director Bakhtiar Khudojnazarov, this is a ?story about the love of a father for his son, of a man for a woman, of Icarus for the Sun, of Mamlakat for a moon father?.
