Eyes Wide Shut (1999)
Sobre o filme
"Dr. Bill Hartford takes his wife, Alice, to a Christmas party hosted by one of his patients, Victor. Two models attempt to seduce him and an argument erupts later when Alice questions his faithfulness. During the heated discussion, Alice reveals an adulterous sexual fantasy of hers involving a navy officer. After hearing this, Bill begins to wander through the streets of New York City, with his night culminating in unexpected events in which sex and danger go hand-in-hand. Stanley Kubrick’s last film was a modern adaptation of Arthur Schnitzler`s 1926 novella Dream Story.
Kubrick bought the rights to Schnitzler’s novella in 1970. It took him almost 30 years to get his script into a shape he liked. It was the most difficult film of his life since he was acutely aware that everyone in the audience was an expert on jealousy and sexual fantasy. Kubrick considered this film his greatest contribution to the art of filmmaking.
