Sobre o filme
The raramuri are an indigenous people from Serra Tarahumara in Northeast Mexico. Maria Elena is an Indian woman of 24 whose son was run over by a car driven by a white woman with money who refuses to accept any responsibility for the accident. The mother leaves the settlement where she lives and tries to seek justice with the courts. She realizes that the Mexican government and the leaders of the tribe themselves are all of them against her. She is the victim of manipulations of justice and the ineptness of her lawyer and returns home disillusioned. Her only consolation is in her newborn son whom she regards as a reincarnation of her dead son.
