A small checkpoint in Northern Jerusalem is established as a temporary checkpoint in 2001. Over a span of six years, Neta Efrony, a filmmaker and a member of MachsomWatch (Checkpoints Watch), documented the ways in which a temporary checkpoint, situated in the heart of an East Jerusalem’ urban area, grew and expanded into becoming a permanent checkpoint. Kalandia checkpoint does not separate between Arabs and Jews; Kalandia checkpoint separates between Palestinians and Palestinians. The film is an authentic and disturbing testimony to the daily struggle of people who want nothing else but to continue their routine lives.
