True Stories (2000)
Sobre o filme
A day in the life of a common man, an electrician from an opera theater in Moscow, in the mid-twenties - true stories that, in fact, are not true. Some of them are dreams or fantasies for this man or even for other people: the man who smelt of smoke because his oven was broken; neighbors who could not express themselves in human speech; a woman chasing after thieves in a streetcar; Lenin, who nobody quite knows how, made his appearance in a barbershop; a priest with serious doubts as to the existence of God; a man who lived with his family in a bathroom; another who could not tell the dead from the living, even though he worked in a morgue. Stories based on the novels by M. Zoschenko (1894-1958), a classical author in Russian literature, renowned, in his prose, for having created a world driven to the most absurd, where the frontiers between dream and reality are practically non-existent.
