Expulsion From Paradise (2001)
Sobre o filme
Rosta is a film director who is filming on a beach for nudists. Each member of the team has a different view on the kind of film to be produced: the director wants artistic work, an experimental metaphor on Adam and Eve; the Russian producer wants an erotic love story; the scriptwriter would like to express his positive philosophy on humanity. The film within the film is ‘Paradise’, but it is hell for those making the film. The director is in a state of crisis with his wife, in trouble with his mistress, the daughter of the producer and main actress in ‘Paradise’. Tyrannical, a manipulator, and mistrustful of the ability of his collaborators, the director is eventually held responsible for the death of a man. The film alternates two forms of expression: ‘truth cinema’ style (camera in hand, amateur actors, filming outside) to narrate the film within the film, and stylizing to tell the story of the movie team. "I wanted to make a moral story on human decadence, where bodies are on the screen not as beautiful, but as terrible pictures of the Apocalypse," says the director.
