The film tells the personal story of steelworkers from the São Paulo ABC industrial region, who took part in the strike movement from 1979 to 1980, remaining under relative anonymity. They talk about their origins, their participation in the movement and of the paths their lives have taken since then. The film was made near the end of the 2002 Brazilian presidential run, when Lula, union leader of the said strikes, won the presidency.
