Sobre o filme

Pompello and Rodolfo, two boys who work in the printshop on a newspaper, want to be filmstars, but fail a test given by Edward Carawa, an important U.S. producer. On the occasion, Pompello is completely taken by the beauty of actress Lia de Golfi and does not hesitate in showing his interest. They are resolved to call attention at any price, and they simulate a murder. They get a skeleton from a doctor and make an anonymous call to denounce the fact that one of them has died. Pompello is identified as the dead man and leaves Madrid under disguise. Rodolfo is charged with murder and sentenced to death. Pompello is in Barcelona and meets again with Lia de Golfi who is astonished to find him alive. In a fit of jealousy, Carawa attacks Pompello and kills him with a stray shot. Rodolfo is led to the execution ground while Lia and Carawa try to reach Madrid to confess the truth. This was the first spoken film in the history of Spanish film.
