Sweet Dreams (2001)
Sobre o filme
The saga of an orphan, Egon Vittori, age 13, in his obsessive search for a record player, in Slovenia, in the seventies. It is a time of prosperity, when all would seem to be moving towards a period of peace and serenity, and people are importing electronic goods, clothes, films, and fashion from the west. All of Egon’s friends can already talk about the vinyl records they have at home, except he. To make things worse, he is obliged, on a day-to-day basis, to deal with two mentally unbalanced people, namely, a sanctimonius grandmother and his mother, negligent and schizophrenic. In his quest for the object of his desire proceeding from the west, Egon comes across hippies, the owners of record shops, some of his schoolmates, teachers, relatives, communists, dissidents, and other types. Egon’s erratic paths also outline a panel of pop cultural reference from the effervescent decade of the seventies.
