Depuis Qu’otar Est Parti . Since Otar Left (2003)
Sobre o filme
Ada, a girl of 25, lives in a small apartment with Marina, her mother, and Eka, her grandmother, in Tbilisi, capital of post-Soviet Georgia. They are, at times, at odds with each other, and the slightest slip in day-to-day life, can generate tension. Their routine varies only with news of Otar, Eka’s beloved son and a doctor trying for a better life in Paris, who survives there, only, as a bricklayer. As with every instance of absence, Otar becomes a myth within the family and his letters become messages of dreams and of hope. Suddenly, however, Marina and Ada are compelled to hide something from Eka, but the lie is, eventually, to wreak changes in their lives. Voted the best film of the Critics Week – Cannes 2003.
