Tokyo Chorus (1931)
Sobre o filme
A comedy on unemployment showing the day-to-day life of a couple and their children. Okajima challenges his boss, an authoritarian, impulsive man, because he disagrees with the dismissal of a colleague. He is promptly dismissed himself and is one more in the enormous contingent of unemployed at the time. To buy food, he sells his wife’s kimonos. After a series of mishaps, he has a new opportunity with a former professor who is now the owner of a restaurant and who offers him a part-time job carrying advertising posters around the streets. Oakajima swallows his pride, accepts the offer, and life for the family is once again back to normal.
