A group of Afghan refugees working illegally in Iran is seen through the eyes of Lateef, an Iranian teenager. Lateef works on a building site serving food and tea to the Afghans doing heavy labor in exchange for a pittance of a salary. The boy is also paid a negligible amount. When Najaf, one of the laborers falls while on the job and is seriously hurt, all of their jobs are threatened, for the authorities must not know how the accident occurred. Najaf’son, Rahmat, takes his place on the building site and rivalry arises between him and Lateef. An unexpected discovery will make the Iranian boy change in attitude.
