American Splendor (2002)
Sobre o filme
Harvey Pekar was in charge of the archives in a Cleveland hospital. Because he could not draw, he would tell jokes and amusing incidents to illustrators such as Robert Crumb and others. Some of these based themselves on Pekar to bring out a comic strip ‘American Splendor’, that became a great success with the public. The first part of the film presents both recent and on-file material to show how Pekar was introduced into the world of comic strips. The second part transforms the protagonist into a cartoon hero, in a spirited adventure. In the third part, an actor plays the role of Peka.
