June, 1940. The Germans are about to invade Paris. In face of the generalized panic, Odile abandons the city with her two children, Philippe and Cathy. The horror starts right at the start of the flight. The Germans bomb and machine-gun the road they are on. A boy with a shaven head appears from a ditch to save them. His name is Yvan, and he is only 16. They make their way into the countryside and come to a large house abandoned by the owners. Yvan is mysterious. He lies to Odile and the children but, at the same time, is intent on saving them. The four survivors must learn how to co-exist with mistrust in order to survive.
