High Fidelity (2000)
Sobre o filme
This entertaining romantic comedy by renowned British Director Stephen Frears is based on the novel of the same name by Nick Hornby. Different to Hornby`s book, however, all of it centered in London, action revolves around the Vinyl Championship, a decadent records shop in Chicago. Far from modern, the shop stocks only recordings in vinyl. The owner, Rob Gordon, spends the day discussing music with his two employees, Dick and Barry, and being offensive to clients if they cannot see eye to eye with him where music is concerned. One of the most controversial aspects of his life is the selection of music that he regards as the best of all times. Rob has a girlfriend, but she is tired of his smug ways and decides to leave him for a fan of world music and fighter in oriental martial arts. The separation is to be one reason for Rob to re-examine his frustrated attempts at love and to steer out in new directions in his quest for happiness.
