Sun Alley (1990)
Sobre o filme
Michael, or "Micha", aged 17, lives in the Democratic Republic of Germany. "Sun Alley" is the street where he lives. Most of the street is on the West Berlin side; however, it ends in East Berlin. The apartment is crowded, the neighbor works for the secret police, and the Soviet Union is Big Brother. All the rest of the world is an enemy of the people, and the Berlin Wall is said to be there to protect them from the fascists. With wall or without, however, we are in the seventies: low-waisted pants, the Stones, trouble in school, and escapades with the police are all too common. When Micha`s passion is awakened by the stunning Miriam, his spirit soars to the heights of freedom. And the rest of the world disappears. No hardship is too great, no punishment too cruel, if only he can get her to notice him. His efforts are painful, but hilarious. As he embarks on his journey, he realizes that the "east" is more than he reckoned with. Micha and his friends go on an enlightening excursion through East Germany.
