Good Bye, Lenin! (2003)
Sobre o filme
In the autumn of 1989, during the dissolution of the communist German Democratic Republic and the fall of the Berlin wall, Mrs. Kerner, an enthusiast of the regime, succumbs to a heart attack and is in coma. When she recovers consciousness eight months later, East Germany no longer exists. Her son, Alex, very much attached to her ever since the father left the country ten years previously, is determined to spare her any disappointment, and orders her to stay in bed and not to leave the room. He imagines that, should she realize what has occurred, she will have another heart attack. With the assistance of his girlfriend and various friends, Alex tries to prevent his mother from coming into contact with the new capitalist country. Things, however, become complicated when, one day, she goes out into the street and finds a world completely changed. Alex’ version of the historical events that occurred from 1989 to 1990 saves his mother from total depression.
