Based on a true story, the film portrays Václav Havel’s (1936-2011) trajectory. The plot begins in the 1960s, when Havel was a bohemian playwright, and shows the drastic changes in his life: his transformation into a human rights activist in the 70s, until he assumes the presidency of the extinguished Czechoslovakia in the end of the 80s. The cine biography also shows personal aspects of Havel’s life, such as his love affairs and the relationship with his wife, Olga (who was a kind of “moral mirror” to the protagonist).
