The third episode of the film The Witches, The Earth Seen from the Moon tells the story of a father and son who, having lost the mother who died after eating poisonous mushrooms, set off, in the manner of Don Quixote and Sancho Panza in search of a woman in her stead. They find her and embark on a plan to obtain money and pay for the upkeep of the house. The woman is to feign suicide from the heights of the Roman Collisseum, while they busy themselves below begging for money to help her. She, however, slips and falls to her death. Home again, father and son perceive that, even though she is dead, the woman has performed all of her duties. “This is happiness, this is happiness”, they shout.
